Adopt a Pet

Share your life with a new soulmate

We’re currently able to offer direct adoptions  in the UK, for all EU adoptions we need partner with fellow rescue groups who can provide lifetime rescue back up.

We don’t have an adoption fee but instead, ask the adopters to sponsor the dog’s  travel costs.

We ask for a  £150 deposit after an  application has been approved, and home check done. The deposit is used to prepare them for export and is non refundable.

Cost breakdown:

Flight from Beijing tp Paris inclusive of  airline pet carrier fee & all  export and import paperwork £750

Dog sky kennel travel crate, depending on size of dog.  £22  – £150

Transport from Paris overground  to UK via  Eurostar based on 4 dogs travelling together (£322 per dog )

All dogs are fully vaccinated,  spayed/ neutered, microchipped.

We keep the cost as low as we can and nothing comes back to us. We are also at the mercy of fluctuating currency conversions.

All dogs travel  with a flight volunteer as excess baggage NOT via cargo planes.

The adoption process takes 4 months as we have to do a   ‘titre’ lab test (RATT) to comply with EU/UK import regulations and there is a mandatory wait time of 90 days  after the blood sample  test date.  We also test for Brucelliosis as many vets now require the test certificate for all imported dogs.

Adopting a furry friend from abroad not only brings joy and love into your life, but also saves a life that deserves a second chance. By covering the transport cost, you are making it possible for these precious souls to find their forever homes and experience the love and care they deserve. It also helps us to rescue more dogs. So, if you’re considering adding a new family member, remember, it’s an investment towards a lifetime of happiness and companionship and can help save another dog’s life..

We will happily  conduct cat testing  upon application approval.

To apply to adopt a dog please email info@pawsofchina.org to receive an application form link.

If you’re initial  application is successful, the next stage is an call interview to further assess suitability.

All potential  adopters will also be required to a  home check, (we are open to doing these virtually)  and proof of ID / address will also be required.

For further info on any of our dogs, or the application process please email us info@pawsofchina.org

We are adding new dogs to the adoption page every month.

We can never guarantee breed specifics, nor can we confirm the exact age of our dogs, unless they were born in our care. Age estimations are made by our vets based on the development of the dog, their general health and energy, and assessing their teeth
