We rescued this adorable furball from the Yulin dog meat festival this year when he was just a puppy. Dog meat traders callously put him into a sack like an inanimate object.

It’s heartbreaking to think of the harrowing end he would have faced. But we are so grateful we found him in time and have been able to watch him grow and transform from a scared little pup into a playful and engaging companion.

Red’s breed is unique to the Guangxi province of China, making him truly one-of-a-kind. He’s still a little shy, but he’s been making great strides and loves to play with other dogs.
